Psychic Talks to Spirits, Gets Tongue-tied with People

One of my favorite people is my healer Patricia Flint. I adore her and apparently so do all of her clients.

But Patricia had a problem. She felt that her seemingly unlimited talents are a gift from God and as many people in ministry or healing professions, the idea of marketing somehow seems unspiritual and repellent. So when strangers asked Patricia what she did, sometimes she got so nervous she just said “I’m a writer.” Which is also what she does.

She desperately needed what is called an elevator speech, a short sentence or two about what you do that you can tell someone in an elevator. When we talked about this, I noticed Patricia’s usually beautiful and serene face seemed to literally contort itself into something else. It was kind of Jekyll and Hyde-ish.

So I got this idea that we should let her clients write it for her. We sent an email out to her best clients asking them this question.

If you wanted to tell someone about what Patricia does, what would you say?

Well, I expected simple answers to a simple question but I got everything from sentences to who pages and everyone seemed to be describing a different person.

So I went through each one looking for conceptual similarities and specific words and came up with a set of words.

First we had to address her uniqueness and how hard it was to explain.

Here are a few of the comments:

• It’s hard to describe what you do because it’s outside the normal vocabulary
• The first thing that comes to mind is unconventional
• Tt is obvious to me that you have a gift that is unique
• I say it’s hard to categorize but it’s an energy healing
• Your readings are much different from the ones experienced previously

I wanted to allow Patricia to voice this difficulty in her script so it would feel genuine. I also wanted the statement to focus on benefits rather that what she does because people relate to them. She works differently with each client according to their needs. Finally, I wanted to appeal to different personality types of humanistic, spontaneous and competitive with the words “safe” “quickly” and “easily.” These issues came up a lot for many people.

Well, Its a little hard to explain because I help people in so many ways but basically i’m an Intuitive guide and healer. I create a safe space where i can help people solve their problems quickly and easily.

Metaphysically, I added the word “Well” because people want to get well and we declared that the word would be a kind of Prayer Code for help from her guides to give her the right words after the statement.

If she had more time to talk, we developed a longer statement for methodical people who want more detail and to further enforce her unique talent and scope of ability.

I work with spirit guides to get answers and use energy medicine for healing. More specifically, I work with spirit guides and am a Master Reiki Healer and can help assist you in areas of health, wealth, and relationships as well as healing pets. I also specialize life and death transitions.

And then a final comment as a lead into further discussion.

It’s funny, my marketing director asked my clients what I do for them and they all had different answers. I work on a very personal and individual level to give each client what they need.
